Our History

In 2001, Victorious Disciples, a discipleship/mentoring ministry was birthed, as four women were discipled for one year to foster spiritual growth and development. Through this small ministry, a workbook entitled Victorious Disciples: A Women’s Practical Guide for Christian Discipleship and Mentoring was published in 2004 and discipleship became a major focus of Light of the World Ministry. With the vision of a multiplying, multi-cultural and multi-racial ministry, God has faithfully increased the discipleship ministry, as women throughout the United States and abroad are participating is this practical study/program of biblical principles.

In an effort to formally structure and position the ministry for future growth, Victorious Disciples Ministries, Inc. was established as a non-profit corporation. The primary thrust of Victorious Disciples Ministries, Inc. (VDM, Inc.) consists of the following components:

01

Discipleship Training, Leadership Development and Spiritual Renewal

02

The Wanda Bolton-Davis Christian Education Annual Scholarship

03

Disciple Africa Now (previously African Connection Crusade)

    Our Leadership

Even as a young child, Wanda had a sensitive heart for God. She accepted Christ at the tender age of 12. She grew up in a Christian home, which laid the foundation for her continued personal relationship with the Lord. A native of Champaign-Urbana, IL, Wanda has resided in the Dallas Metroplex since 1983.

Wanda holds a bachelor’s degree in Rehabilitation Science, and a master’s degree in Social Work. As a social worker, she worked in the field of adoption for several years, where she impacted the lives of many families and children. In 2001, with a call from God on her life, Wanda began her academic preparation for ministry. She attended, was named Minister of the Year, and graduated from G. W. Truett Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity degree. Later, desiring to be better equipped for ministry, Wanda went on to earn a Doctorate in Ministry degree from Talbot School of Theology.

It has been Wanda’s passion for discipleship that led her to disciple hundreds of individuals over the past 20 years. Wanda is the founder and Executive Director of Victorious Disciples Ministries, Inc., a non-profit she founded in 2005 that has revitalized and revolutionized many churches across the country through conferences, discipleship training and leadership development. Wanda’s work in discipleship has been implemented locally, throughout the United States, and as far as Bermuda, the United Kingdom, The Netherlands, Africa, and Tanzania.

She has authored several books, to include: Victorious Disciples: A Practical Guide for Christian Discipleship and Mentoring, The Victorious Life: A 30-Day Devotional Journal, and soon to be released, Returning to the Great Commission: Examining the Biblical Foundation and Effectiveness of Small Group Discipleship

Wanda currently works as an on-call hospital chaplain, an adjunct professor at the University of Texas in Arlington, TX and faculty mentor for Northern Seminary in Lisle, IL. You will find her every Wednesday night discipling and teaching the word of God at her Victory Hour Bible study.

Wanda has three amazing adult children, Kandis, Dwight and Destiny; a wonderful son-in-love, Dex, and an adorable grandson, Davin. The Lord continues to open many doors for Wanda both locally and abroad, as she ministers through teaching, preaching, discipling and singing. Her daily prayer is, “Lord use me in thy service.”
